Why they aren't on by default
The social features give access to other people: messaging them, seeing who's going to an event, inviting your friends… Reserving them for users who have earned access keeps the community healthier and with less noise. No empty profiles firing off messages at random.
Points: earned by using AgendaLocal
As you take part on the platform you build up points. It's AgendaLocal's way of recognising the people who are genuinely part of the community. The more you use it, the closer you are to unlocking its full potential.
Redeem your points for the social role
When you reach 750 points, you can redeem them for the social role. It's a voluntary step and you take it yourself, whenever you like, from the /social page. When you claim it, all the social features of your account switch on at once.
Exactly what you unlock
With the social role, your account gains access to the best of the community:
- Private messaging with your confirmed friends.
- Seeing the attendee list of an event, with names and profiles.
- Marking that you're going to attend events.
- Inviting your friends to an event with a private message.
In other words: you go from watching to taking part fully.
